About the Founder

During my career, I worked with companies in a variety of countries, industries, and scenarios and learned a lot about business, people, and leadership.  I started EQuest Executive Coaching as a second chapter of my career and as a way for me to leverage my experiences to help other executives address many of the complexities in today's business world.

My mission is to help clients achieve greater business and career success, and foster better working environments for their people.

I am certified as a professional executive coach through the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and possess various certifications with assessment and coaching tools and techniques.  My client companies represent almost every industry, and many are global requiring my services in different countries.  I love what I do and am fully invested in helping company executives achieve the best outcomes for themselves and for their companies.

My office is located an hour from Manhattan in Westport, CT and I travel to my clients based on their particular needs.

Biography

Manuel (Manny) Sousa is the founder of EQuest Executive Coaching LLC, which is dedicated to accelerating the development of leaders and executives. He is a former senior business executive with over 35 years’ of experience leading human resources teams in global Fortune 500 and private companies.

His career spanned various industries including financial services, software technology, telecommunications, retail, and consumer products. He has had roles as the Chief People Officer for T-Mobile, Saks Fifth Avenue, Invesco, and OpenText. In these roles, he led global teams of multi- functional staff supporting countries in Europe, Asia, North America, and the Caribbean. He brings a wealth of expertise in leadership development, workforce management, executive compensation, organizational transformation, executive recruitment, mergers and acquisitions, and international business. He has a proven track record of working with senior executive teams and Boards as a trusted advisor to help develop effective workforce strategies to transform and strengthen business performance.

Coaching Approach

Manny helps executives in all areas of leadership, business effectiveness, and organizational development.  He brings his extensive domestic and international experience to advise and coach clients to improve their executive and leadership skills, and maximize their potential through self-discovery.  He is well known for applying creative strategies when coaching, and his depth and breadth of past experiences in complex global businesses are highly valued by his clients.

Manny’s coaching methodology involves partnering with the client to clarify coaching goals and shaping personalized strategies to effectively address the client’s needs.  He uses a variety of tools and methodologies as part of the coaching process.  He is certified in “DISC” assessments to improve communication and relationship management skills, and “3 Brains Coaching”, a methodology used to strengthen emotional intelligence.  Based on client requirements, he applies 360-degree surveys to gain deeper insights on how the client is perceived by others and to develop meaningful coaching approaches.  Finally, he uses a proprietary “Leadership Framework” to help facilitate a process by which clients develop and drive greater clarity of direction for their organizations.
